City Lights Bokeh Effect

1–2 minutes

read

Bokeh comes from a Japanese word. It refers to the out-of-focus area rendered by the lens that is aesthetically pleasing.

It has a lot to do with the focusing distance.

Camera settings

  1. Switch to manual focus (MF)
  2. Adjust the focusing ring
  3. Set a wide open aperture (lowest f-stop)
  4. Focal length 50mm and beyond

*Bonus tip – the longer the focal length, the bigger the bokeh would be.
